Tour Isla Negra y Pomaire: poetry, magic, tipical chilean food, and handmade pottery
An opportunity to visit Pablo Neruda's house, a marvelous jewel in itself. It’s an original design with an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean
The house was built following the specific canons of a ship, in which everything about it reminds us the sea. The house contains a variety of collections that the poet kept for decades in his last refuge: masks, figureheads, giant butterflies, exotic shells, toys from his childhood, and some other hard-to-find eccentricities that are worth a seeing. After the visit we will depart to Pomaire, a town known for its handmade clay potters. Its famous pottery is characterized by its reddish hue and smooth and shiny surface.
Once in Pomaire's town, we will walk through the main street, where the potters display their pots and other decorative items. Also, you will be able to try homemade liquors, delicious empanadas, corn pies and all staples of traditional Chilean cuisine.
